HUD Report: Building Even Better Homes

Panelists speaking to congressional aides in Washington DC

On June 4th, 2019 professor Andrew McCoy discussed the role of the federal government in promoting innovation for the housing industry before congressional aides on the Mall in Washington DC.  The session signaled the release of a recent report for the Office of Secretary Ben Carson that details ways to promote innovation and that was part of the forming of the new "Office of Innovation" appropriated by Congress.  The report can be downloaded here: https://www.huduser.gov/portal/sites/default/files/pdf/BuildingEvenBetterHomes.pdf .  The moderator of the Panel is Colonel Christopher Bourne, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Innovation Office of Policy Development and Research in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Also on the panel are Dr. Carlos Martin of Urban Institute (leading co-author of the report with Dr. McCoy), Theresa Weston of Dupont and Mike Lazier of Housing Innovation Research Labs.
